About

Intrigued by portrayals of female bodies in print media, visual culture and art history, I seek to re-contextualise these stagnant images into playful scenes of natural and manufactured wonder. Through the destruction and reconstruction of found ephemera, I challenge narratives of femininity and the gaze, constructing surrealist scenes that women occupy with unobserved curiosity.

The conceptual and material possibilities of analog collage underpins the process I view as ‘paper painting’. Restricted by the limitations of working with one off, singular images, the artmaking process is one of meticulous collection, calculation, and chance.
